GAVIÃO DOS CEDROS wins the CDN Costa do Estoril art Elementary level!
Gavião dos Cedros (Rubi AR x Ufana DR out of Hostil) ride by Vasco Mira Godinho got the 1st place in the two days of the competition. Gavião do Cedros continues to meet the high expectations revealing a lot of quality and high aptitude for sport.
Thanks to all team especially the excellent work done by Vasco Mira Godinho and the precious help of the Olympic rider Miguel Duarte Ralão.
We emphasize the presence of about 80 sets in this CDN, reinforcing the good moment that Dressage, in Portugal, is going through.

FURRIEL DOS CEDROS and GAVIÃO DOS CEDROS WON the 1st round of Portugal Cup 2016 which was held this weekend in Daniel Pinto Academy in Arruda dos Vinhos.
FURRIEL DOS CEDROS (Rubi AR) X (Ufana DR) by Hostil ridden by Miguel Duarte Ralão got the 1st place in the two days of competition in M1 and M2 levels.
GAVIÃO DOS CEDROS (Rubi AR) X (Ufana DR) by Hostil ridden by Vasco Mira Godinho got the 1st place in the two days of the competition in E1 and E2 levels.
We thank the riders all the commitment and professionalism and also all the team.
It was a weekend full of success and that fills us of pride!

LIVE BOX is a Live Stream Service from which our clients will be able to see and monitor the day to day of his horses in the boxes of Quinta dos Cedros Stud from anywhere, anytime.
With the implementation of the Live Stream on Coudelaria Quinta dos Cedros cameras were installed at strategic locations that allow us to monitor and follow closely 24h all the facilities and horses, enabling monitoring and prevention of clinical situations, promoting safety and animal welfare.

We've concluded another investment in Coudelaria Quinta dos Cedros continuing the excellent service provider giving priority to animal's welfare as always.
From now one we have in our facilities two Solariums included with ventilation and lifts which enable muscle heating and drying horses, plus massage blanket from HHP.

RICHARD WHITE IN QUINTA DOS CEDROS

Quinta dos Cedros Stud had the pleasure of the presence of Richard White for another clinic that took place on 11 and 12 February organised by Dressage Lusitanos (Miguel Ralão). In this session remained the usual riders including Miguel Ralão with Distúrbio and Xenofonte D'Atela, Daniel Pinto with Ezuzu and Santurion de Massa, Pedro Torres with Ahoto, Coralie Baldrey with Distinto and Shanelle Morgan with Arabesco.
This time, the riders Mafalda Albergaria with Gandhi and Vasco Mira Godinho with Bariloche also joined the clinic.
Seizing the opportunity, the younger riders from our Team Dressage Lusitanos, Rita Ralão, Nelson Aleluia and Magali Hoetzel, had a surprise lesson with Richard with the following young horses Gran Soberano, Grifo and Geada, respectively.

Furriel dos Cedros BEST LUSITANO in PORTUGAL CUP 2015 at the elementary level being VICE CHAMPION!
Furriel dos Cedros (Ruby AR) X (Ufana DR) by Hostil ridden by Miguel Duarte Ralão (Dressage Lusitano) won the 2nd place in the final three events of the Portugal Cup reaching an average of 70.28%.
This is excellent results considering that the set, for a total of 5 journeys, participated only in two of them and still managed to add the required score ranking in 2nd place in the ranking of 2015 Portugal Cup at the elementary level.
We thank the Olympic rider Miguel Duarte Ralão all the dedication, hard work and confidence in Furriel of the Cedars.
As creator of Lusitano was a huge proud realize the presence of 12 Lusitano horses on the podium, at the different levels, on this final of the Portugal Cup 2015.

Miguel Ralão Duarte riding Distúrbio (PFC), the stallion chosen by Quinta dos Cedros Stud in 2015 to benefit all our Ruby AR daughter's, shines in IV Journey of the Cup of Portugal 2015 in Kur Inter I getting 74%, exceeding the results achieved so far.
These results reveal a very promising future of this set. This leaves us optimistic and with high expectations to the births of Distúrbio product's and we hope to confirm the expected quality.
The four victories last weekend, with Ralão Miguel Duarte and Distúrbio (PFC) in Kur Inter I with 74%, Ralão Miguel Duarte and Furriel dos Cedros (CDC) in E2 with 71.60%, Ralão Miguel Duarte and Xenofonte D'Atela (FBS) in Kur GP with 69% and Vasco Mira Godinho with Gaio dos Cedros (CDQ) in P3 with 70.15%, qualify these 4 sets for the final of the Portugal Cup 2015.

Furriel dos Cedros (Rubi AR) X (Ufana DR) out of Hostil got 1st place in the E2 level with 71.60%, and the E3 level with 70.70%, brilliantly ridden by Miguel Duarte Ralão (Dressage Lusitanos).
Gaio dos Cedros (Rubi AR) X (Rifa MM) out of Fogoso got 3rd place in the P2 level with 65.70% and the 1st place in the P3 level with 70.15%, riding brilliantly by Vasco Mira Godinho (Team Pedro Torres).
We want to thank the riders Miguel Duarte Ralão (Dressage Lusitanos) and Vasco Mira Godinho (Team Pedro Torres) for the outstanding performance and achievements, not forgetting also the entire team of Quinta dos Cedros stud, employees and friends.

We would like also to note the excellent performance of the rider Miguel Duarte Ralão (Dressage Lusitanos) that apart from winning with Furriel dos Cedros also won 1st place with Distúrbio (Coudelaria Ferraz da Costa) in Inter 1 and Xenofonte d'Atela ( Bessa de Carvalho stud) in Grand Prix Special, soon we will post news, averages and photos about them.

Gaio dos Cedros (Rubi AR X Rifa MM) premiere in dressage getting the excellent average of 68.60%! Gaio was the BEST LUSITANO in the preliminary level in the 3rd round of Portugal Dressage Cup in Ponte de Lima, ranking 3rd and 2nd place overall.
Gaio dos Cedros is also ranked in 1st PLACE with SILVER MEDAL in 4 y.o. class ridden in Ponte de Lima.
We want to thank once again the rider Vasco Mira Godinho for the excellent work. It is with great pride and confidence in the future that we got compliments to this set from international coaches like Richard White and Kyra Kyrklund, Francisco Cancela de Abreu, Paulo Caetano, rider Filipe Canelas Pinto and Vasco Freire (Dressage Plus), thank you all for recognition.

The Olympic Rider Miguel Ralão Duarte and Distúrbio (Pedro Ferraz da Costa) had a great performance during his second time international competition on Prix S. George level at CDI Madrid. Placed 5th on PSG and 1st on Kur Intermediare.
Distúrbio (PFC) is a 7 y.o. Lusitano Stallion great promising and is the stallion chosen by Coudelaria Quinta dos Cedros in 2015 to benefit all our Ruby AR daughter's.

Miguel Ralão and Distúrbio (PFC) had a great performance in CDI-3* Vilamoura. Distúrbio (PFC) debuts on KUR Inter I with the excellent result of 72.22% and was ranked in 2nd place overall.

This weekend Coudelaria Quinta dos Cedros was in one of the most important fairs in the north of the country, where we present Gaio dos Cedros (CDQ) by Rubi (AR) X Rifa (CMM) por Fogoso (JGB) getting 1st place with Gold Medal in 4 y.o. class riding, being crowned Champion Male and Champion of Champions.
Our special thanks to rider Vasco Mira Godinho (Team Pedro Torres) for his dedication and confidence and brilliant presentation of Gaio dos Cedros (CDQ).

Last weekend, 25th and 26th of October took place the end of the championship of young horses 2014 in Coimbra.
Miguel Ralão and Distúrbio (bred by Ferraz da Costa) were national champions of young horses 6 years with 80% on the first day and 81.80% on the second day.

The set played in the national championship dressage for 3 days, getting 69.34% in YR Team Test, 69.60% in the individual test and 70.31% in the Kur.

Portuguese National Cup 4th edition
The past weekend, 6th and 7th of September, the 4th edition of the Portuguese National Cup took place in Alfeizerão at CEIA – Centro Equestre Internacional de Alfeizerão.
Miguel Ralão got the following scores with the horse Distúrbio, Coudelaria Ferraz da Costa:
C2 level test – 70,89% (1st place)
C3 level test – 69,50% (2nd place)

Miguel’s daughter Rita, had her dressage competition debut during the last weekend of July. Couldn´t be a better start! Was honoured to ride Rico – the 16 y.o. Lusitano from Guilherme Borba (DR) stud – under Dad’s training, and they have a special bond! Rita has a special sensibility to ride Rico, and Rico seems to enjoy it.

Richard White, the British rider and trainer taught this week-end an internship at Quinta dos Cedros, organized by Dressage Lusitanos.
The training session was attended seven riders, some of whom are now regulars in the stages of Richard White, whenever it comes to Portugal. This time were Peter Torres, Miguel Ralão Duarte, Daniel Pinto (two mounted), Philip and Sofia Shuttles Pinto, Salvador Pessanha and Filipa Carneiro, who did not fail to learn a little more with this coach.
Each rider had about an hour of individualized workout every day. Richard White, husband of rider Kyra Kyrklund, has been a frequent visitor of our country to minister regularly teaching clinics.

It is with great pleasure and expectancy that we welcome Richard White at Quinta dos Cedros for another clinic on the 3 and 4 October organized by Dressage Lusitanos.The Olympic rider Miguel Duarte Ralão, Sarah Warne, Luciano Inácio, Filipa Carneiro, Filipe Canelas Pinto and the olympic rider Gonçalo Carvalho attended this clinic.

It was a happy competition for Miguel Ralão, we can say it after the three days of the Portugal Dressage Cup 2012. With 4 horses, Miguel Ralão was at the Final in all tests:
With Zaire - Pedro Passanha Stud – Champion of the Portugal Dressage Cup 2012 Champion at Prix S. George.
2nd place in the final Complementary Test with the horse "Arabesco" owned by Shanelle Morgan and doubled the bronze medals with Regalo at Grand Prix level and with "Dona Rica" in the Preliminary test, both horses are from Pedro Ferraz da Costa Stud.
These results give an enormous satisfaction to the Quinta dos Cedros team who is pleased to be with these riders and horses every day. Congratulations to all!

The Dressage Lusitanos organized and promoted a clinic with Richard White at Quinta dos Cedros .
Richard White, graduated in Dressage, worked with horses all his life. He began as learner in Germany, continuing his study in the French and Portuguese schools before returning to the UK to teach and train.
Richard is partner of well-known dressage champion, Kyra Kyrkland, and since 1990 he has been helping Kyra in her trainings at home and during the competitions.
Working with many other international riders as Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein and Emma Hindle, Richard has many training memorable moments over the years and he will never forget the warm-up of the Grand Prix of Aachen in 2006 , where he trained at the same time, Kyra, Emma and Jan Brink - using three different intercoms!
When he just returned home after two days of an exclusive clinic in Portugal, I was curious to know what was the content of the training with three of the best riders in the country.

The National Dressage Championships final was held in the recent days 5, 6 and 7 October where Miguel Ralão stood out with his horses:National Champion with Zaire in S.George level (Pedro Passanha breeder) Bronze medal with Regalo (Pedro Ferraz da Costa Stud) at the Grand Prix level and for the first time with the mare Dona Rica (Pedro Ferraz da Costa Stud) achieved the 3rd place in the final, with a significant emphasis on the 2nd day with 79.40 points.
On the Complementary level he won the 2nd place with Arabesco (Pedro Ferraz da Costa Stud).

Ruby (AR) unbeatable in the GP of Ruta del Sol

Ruby proved to be unbeatable in the trials which ended the CDI 3 * of the Ruta del Sol in Vejer de la Frontera.
After, on Friday dominated the freestyle test with music, which scored 77.650%.
In both tests the Portuguese rider left behind the French rider Jessica Michel/Riwera de Hus (2nd place), which ended the Grand Prix with 72.383% and the Kur with 76.625%. Farthest Spanish rider Joseph Daniel Martin Docks and Grandioso, with 70.255% and 73.900%, respectively in the GP and the GP Freestyle.

The well-known FEI Official International Judge Stephen Clarke will be in Portugal in next April.The Dressage clinic will take place on 4 and 5 April, at Quinta dos Cedros, in Sintra, and is organized by Dressage Lusitano.Stephen Clarke has been present in the major Dressage competitions during the last decade as as FEI Official International Judge, in particular during the four World Cup finals, three European Championships, the World Games in Jerez, the World Equestrian Games in Aachen, the Olympics in Athens, the World Championships for Young Horses, the European Championships for Juniors and New Riders and the Pan American Games.As a rider Stephen Clarke competed successfully at National and International level with his own horses: Ulysses, Becket, Warlock's Water, Enchante and Eternal Spirit.He was also a reserve rider for the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 with his horse Becket.

The APSL statutory bodies took office on the 4th April, at the Hotel Baia, in Cascais. According to the APSL statutes, during this meeting the Executive Board was appointed, being the President Luis Vinhas and the vice-presidents Arsénio Raposo Cordeiro and Diogo Lima Mayer. The Executives Directors are Miguel Felix da Costa, João Pedro Rodrigues, Vasco Freire and Bruno Carrilho.

The stallion ZAIRE was the Champion of Champions of the FIPSL 2010, being now in an intensive training at Quinta dos Cedros with Ralão Miguel Duarte.
Zaire (Male Champion) fought for that title with Dihamante, Female Champion winning the maximum trophy of the XXII Lusitano Horse International Festival.
Zaire (Pedro Passanha Stud) is the son Rouxinol and Orgulhosa and competed in the Stallions class ridden by Miguel Duarte Ralão.

One of the trainings of the Project Lusitano horses in Dressage was held from 18 to 20 December, at the Centro Equestre Quinta da Marinha. This training was attended by 11 riders.
As usual, the last training of the year was open to new riderswho wanted to be part of this project carried out by APSL and teached by Martina Hannover.
From the eleven horses, Açor dos Cedros Cedros (Quinta dos Cedros breeder and owned by Miguel Duarte Ralão) was the most outstanding horse with the final average of 73.60%.
This project aims at preparing riders and horses to participate in the most relevant national and international dressage competitions.

Miguel Ralão and Oxalis da Meia Lua on the way to the Olympics

Miguel Duarte Ralão was confirmed as the 64th Portuguese athlete qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing.
For now Miguel is focused on training with Oxalis da Meia Lua at the Quinta dos Cedros premises, this mare has been with with Miguel for 8 years.
National Dressage Individual Champions Miguel Ralão Duarte and Oxalis da Meia Lua will travel to Hong Kong (the city offering the best conditions than Beijing for the competition) to show their value.
